We’ve been away for three weeks and much as we’ve had a good time and some great adventures, it’s good to be home. Harry Husband starts to miss his workshop in about week two, and The Teenager all of a sudden regains her Essex accent when she starts talking about Panto rehearsals. We’ve had a rather splendid time, but that’s another story.
Moss, lucky girl, has been running with a behavioural pack while we were away. This is my first ever encounter with this kind of thing, although she’s been there for a couple of nights as a tester. The guy that runs it is a total dog man. He was put into a dog basket with German Shepherds when he was just two hours 0ld, much to the horror of the midwife who had just delivered him. He has always been better with dogs than people. His social skills are peculiar (sorry Warren) that’s not the point, it’s how he cares for the dogs that matters to us. The essential idea is that his dogs teach Moss how to behave, his dogs are very well behaved and fair. It’s a bit like a Steiner school for dogs, with the fees to boot!
I collected her about a week ago, she seems to have readjusted to being at home just fine. I thought she might miss being part of a pack of dogs. In fact, I’d say she’s ideally suited to being in our pack, she kind of treats us like her own little pack, which seems okay to me. No doubt Warren would have something to say about it and it wouldn’t be polite.
Happy New year to you. I love the opportunity for rebirth that the New Year offers. For me the important thing is to have the courage and energy to make the changes. One of the changes I want to make this year is to train Moss to walk nicely on the lead, she’s so awkward at the moment, she’s driving me nuts!
Happy New Year.
