Blue curly hair

justwalkingthedogw

I’m standing in front of the poultry section of our local supermarket.  There are chicken thighs, chicken breasts, whole chickens, but there aren’t any chicken wings, which is what I’m wanting to buy for Moss our collie dog.

There’s a young girl stacking shelves close by, she has blue curly hair and kind eyes.   She helps me to look, but we can’t find any chicken wings.  I explain they are for my dog.  She suggests to me that I do the rest of my shopping and she’ll see what she can do.

Off I go pushing my trolley up and down the aisles.  As I near the end of my shop, the blue haired girl comes rushing up to me with a tray of chicken wings in her either hand.

“For your dog!” she says, handing them to me.

It’s such a kind gesture that it makes me smile.

I’m going to take the whole of August off from justwalkingthedog.co.uk.  We’ll be coming back again in September, with lots of new ideas and stories inspired by Moss our high voltage collie dog.  With a bit of luck, we’ll have podcasts as well.

My sincere thanks to you, dear reader, for your support. Have a good summer and see you again in September.

With love from,

Alison, Moss & family
