A special Mossy hug
Getting old is tough. As they say, it’s not for the faint hearted, a significant issue can be loneliness. Moss is one of those dogs who prefers humans to dogs, she wriggles with enthusiasm for her two-legged friends.
Her favourite thing to do is to visit people, she loves everyone, especially Myra. Myra lives just around the corner from us, she’s had a difficult time of late, with one loss after another, both humans and animals. She now lives entirely alone in a large house which echoes with emptiness. She’s a sweet soul but a lonely one. Moss loves Myra and they have a little routine together.
We go in, Moss jumps up, exactly as she’s taught not to. She then sits down with a straight back and smiles up at Myra, who gives her six treats. Moss scoffs the treats. Then they have a cuddle and a chat. Moss loves it, she wants to hang out with Myra and snuggle up to her. She’s not pretending or being polite, you can see it in every bit of her body, she just loves Myra.
Moss then gives Myra one of her special Mossy hugs, she crosses her front legs to hold on tight - bless her.
